Poem 8

Is selfishness really wrong or really necessary?
We do what we need to do in order to maintain that equilibrium, that
ultimate knowledge, self omniscience.
To know is to have felt pain,
To have walked through that quicksand of lifes problems
always sinking always sucking you in.
Never knowing if the quicksand was the easy way out.
It is the knot that you are always trying to untangle.
If done wrong it always has the potential to get bigger
Maybe it is the fleck of sand stuck in the oyster.
The oysters pain always yields for it something beautiful.
I want that beauty, but also to know that it is real.
Does hurt if for a good cause justify the action?
